Virtual Exams – Telehealth

We understand your reluctance to venture out of the house during this challenging time and are excited to offer you a virtual exam using our new telemedicine platform. It’s fast and easy and will give Dr. Duss the opportunity to evaluate how your child is doing and to make recommendations on management. A lot can be accessed using video chat technology and most insurance companies are covering these visits just as they would a regular office visit. In fact, many are waiving copays and deductibles to encourage telemedicine utilization.

We care about your child’s vision and want to make sure they do not lose valuable gains while quarantined. It will be a great consolation to both you and Dr. Duss to know that they are safe and sound.

Please give us a call or send a message through our Contact Us form for more information.

We are here to serve you! In Person or via Telemedicine, whichever your preference!

Dear Patient or Parent/Guardian of Pediatric Eye Consultants of North Florida:

As we navigate this difficult time, We assure you that strict protocols are in place to keep Pediatric Eye Consultants a completely sanitary, clean, and a safe environment for you and your children. We continue to obtain temperatures from all patients and family members before they enter our office and will be screening for recent symptoms of fever, cough, travel or exposure to known COVID-19 infected individuals.

We are rooming patients immediately upon check in and we will give each patient/family their own dedicated exam room for the duration of their appointment. All rooms are disinfected between patients and sterile surfaces are being maintained. For the continued safety of our patients and staff we ask that only one parent/guardian/spouse accompany the patient and that you contact us prior to your appointment if you feel that you are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19.

If you are unable to come to our office due to any of the above risk factors, we will be happy to accommodate a “telemedicine” consultation. We will be rolling out live video/ audio capability via our EHR platform. The process is simple to use and utilizes our already existing portal. Please reach out to info@kidseyesjax.com or send a message via our EMA/Modernizing Medicine Portal to request a Telehealth appointment. We are dedicated to your well being and care deeply about your or your child’s visual health and development.

While dedicated to both safety and prudence, we are also determined to care for our patients with the same passion as always. We thank you for your understanding during this trying time. Please stay safe and healthy.

Warmly,
Dr. Duss and Staff
